Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw

Prepared on the basis of the Order No. 39/2025 of the Rector of the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw of 26 November 2025 on the introduction of the Code of Ethics concerning the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic activity at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw.

  1. General principle

The Academy recognises artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool supporting learning, research, and teaching.
AI may be used provided that transparency, responsibility, and academic integrity are maintained.
AI is intended to assist – not replace – the author.

  1. When AI may be used

✔ for learning, summaries, auxiliary translations, language editing, data analysis, and idea generation;
✔ in scientific or teaching work – provided that the author independently verifies the results and discloses the use of AI;
✔ in organisational communication – provided that no personal data or confidential materials are processed.

  1. What should be avoided

✖ entering personal data, unpublished research, or copyright-protected content into AI tools where data security is not assured;
✖ delegating substantive decisions or evaluations to AI;
✖ presenting work created by AI as entirely one’s own;
✖ using AI during examinations or tests without the consent of the instructor.

  1. Disclosure of AI use

Always inform about the use of AI in your work – for example, in a footnote or statement:

“An AI tool (e.g. ChatGPT) was used in the preparation of this work for language correction and summaries. The author verified the results.”

Failure to disclose may be considered a breach of the principles of academic integrity.

  1. Responsibility

The author is responsible for all content – including content generated by AI.
AI has no copyright, and materials created by AI are not protected by law unless they have been creatively developed by a human.
In the event of violations (e.g. plagiarism, disclosure of data), the University acts in accordance with applicable regulations.

  1. In brief – remember

🔹 You may use AI, but you must verify what you create.
🔹 Always disclose where AI assisted you.
🔹 Do not enter sensitive data.
🔹 You bear full responsibility for the final outcome.
